GURINGAI FESTIVAL

A celebration of Aboriginal Culture & Heritage.

PRODUCER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of STAR DREAMING: SALLY BLACKWOOD

STAR DREAMING
GLEN STREET THEATRE, Sydney, Australia, 20-21 June 2009

A Free family weekend of sharing Aboriginal culture with the whole family. Art & craft workshops, dance & music performances, bush tucker, talks, exhibitions, storytelling & learn to dance with NAISDA. We explore the story of Creation & Dreaming from the ground to the stars, the beginning of stories & language.

The Festival culminated with the Rainbow Serpent dusk parade an extraordinary celebration of Aboriginal Culture on the winter solstice. The giant Rainbow Serpent wound its way through the trees from Glen Street Theatre to Frenchs Forest Showground as we lit up the night with a smoking ceremony, luminaries, fire sculptures, music and NAISDA dancers.
