To escape the humdrum of their office lives, best friends Danny and Bernie spend their nights prowling the singles bar scene of 1970s Chicago. But when Danny meets Deb, an ambitious young artist, he dives headfirst into a “serious” relationship. Left on the sidelines, Bernie and Deb’s flatmate Joan battle their own insecurities as they spout their jaded wisdom upon the young couple. What ensues is a dynamic rift between four friends in a story that’s tainted with sex, jealousy, revenge and even a little love.
SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO was supported by BELVOIR ST THEATRE & FRINGE BAR.
